Detroit Waldorf School reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time before the actual sale.
All sales are final. Unless otherwise stated, all donations expire one year from the date of the auction. No allowances will be made, or sales voided, on account of any error in cataloging or imperfection or damage not noted. All goods being exposed for public exhibition are sold “as is” and without recourse.
Although the utmost effort has been made to accurately describe the sale items, Detroit Waldorf School shall not be held responsible for incorrect description, authenticity, or any defect in any item and makes absolutely no warranty of any kind in connection therewith. Detroit Waldorf School neither warrants the quality or the value of items or services.
All items must be redeemed at the conclusion of the live auction and payment made in full in the approved manner stated below. The buyer, by his/her purchase, waives any claims for liability against either Detroit Waldorf School or the donor of property or services. Neither Detroit Waldorf School nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damage that may result from the use of property or services sold. Vacation homes, condos, or sport suites cannot be resold. Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions specified by the donors.
Silent Auction Rules
Items available in the silent auction include a description, the minimum starting bid, and the proper incremental increase. Persons desiring to bid on these items may place a bid through ClickBid software on their personal mobile devices, or they may seek assistance from a volunteer, who will place a bid for them. Bidders may opt to designate a maximum bid that will allow ClickBid to automatically bid in the designated increments up to the bidder’s chosen cap.
The first bid must equal or exceed the stated minimum and each increase must equal or exceed the stated incremental increase. Incorrect bids are invalid bids. A bid is a legal contract to buy.
Notice will be given when the silent auction is about to close. All bids after the time of close will be invalid. The winning individual at the conclusion of the silent auction will be the highest valid bid number recorded in the ClickBid system. Bidders will see their bidding status - lost or won - on the dashboard of their ClickBid bidding pages.
Live Auction Rules
The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid if deemed inappropriate to the value of the item selling. The auctioneer reserves the right to announce conditions of sale at any time.
Statements or corrections made in regard to lot descriptions during the sale take precedence over printed material. Detroit Waldorf School reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time before the actual sale.
The auctioneer will auction each item one at a time by naming and describing each item. To enter a bid, the bidder signals either the auctioneer or one of the spotters by holding up his/her paddle number. Use only the paddle assigned to you.
The auctioneer will determine who the successful bidder is. All sales are final when the auctioneer pronounces the item “sold”.
Payment + Item Pick-up
Payment for items purchased must be made in full on the night of the auction. Bidders may check out, using a credit card, through the ClickBid system, or may check out with credit card, cash, or check (made out to Detroit Waldorf School) at the checkout area. Any winner who is unable to pay in full will forfeit the right to purchase the item.
All auction items are subject to 6% Michigan sales tax.
After payment is complete, a volunteer will assist you in picking up your items. Winning bidders must take their purchases home at the conclusion of the auction unless special arrangements have been made.
Some items require arrangements through a contact person. The name and other relevant information is to be found on your letter or gift certificate. Please note expiration dates, restrictions, and special considerations. If you purchase a vacation home, condo, hotel package, or sports suite, please make arrangements through the contact person as soon as possible to ensure availability. Initial contact should be made within two weeks.
